A Modern Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Which means it is a month of extra love, sweets and kisses. Last year DSE did this shoot with one of my favorites Trent Bailey Photography. To get us all in the spirit, I thought I would share! You can see the whole post on Ruffled Blog.

Do you have any fun plans this year for Valentine’s Day?!

Cozy Family Dinners…

I am back from vacation! So excited for everything DSE in 2012!

This year I just started liking tomatoes. Gasp! I know! I never liked them before, and now I can’t get enough of them. I’ve been dreaming up some dishes to make this weekend for the family, and look at these gorgeous pictures I found…

From the Interns Desk….

The interns at DSE are an important part of our team and this year was no exception with our fabulous girls.

As our clients and vendor friends know, the interns are given many responsibilities such as helping with timelines, assisting on photo shoots and placing client orders. At the end of each summer I give them a fun project to work on. This year I asked them to create a dessert table using vendors that we have worked with. The theme was DSE of course! And here is what Lindsay, Julie and Kristin had to say…

“When Desiree asked us to create a DSE themed dessert table for a photo shoot we couldn’t have been more excited! All three of us have different tastes and styles so we knew it was going to be fun and exciting to collaborate and bring together each of our own ideas. We used some new vendors including Marissa Powers from The Bean and Bear Company who made beautiful AND delicious cake truffles! We also couldn’t have done it without Cyndi Swan from Lady Slipper Stationery, Lisa Gallagher from Krazy Kakes, and Stacey Hedman the awesome photographer! We decided to stick to DSE’s blue color scheme and mixed it with some silver and whites. Looking for guidance from other dessert tables gave us the idea to fill glass vases with candy such as silver Jordan almonds, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, and rock candy crystals. Lisa made us “dream, love, wed” sugar cookies, and a beautiful white 3-tiered cake wrapped in light blue ribbon. We also created white DSE favor bags, filled with salt water taffy for “guests”. After searching and shopping for table decorations and working on putting all the pieces together to complete the table, we were happy with our first project together as a group!”

Here is a peak at what they came up with!

Thanks everyone for helping out the girls and special thanks to Stacey who shot these gorgeous image… including the last one done with film!

Chatham Bars Inn Dessert Table

With Spring right around the corner, Sara and I are getting ready for the start of the wedding season!  Last time, this year we did an adorable baby shower dessert table set up at Chatham Bars Inn with a pink, silver and white theme.  The style was to be clean and simple and we started by putting these images to envision the table.

Next, we pulled out all of our dishes and plates and linen options so that we could choose the perfect setting for the desserts that were being made by Lisa at Delicious Desserts. Then we sketched the table how we imagined it would look as a guide to go by for set up on the day of.

Here is what every thing looked like pulled together! I love the silver jordan almonds and the amazing photos by Bello Photography.
