California Wedding

My amazing, lovely and talented friend Cameron (who is also a wedding planner!) married her sweetheart in California, I could not help but swoon over these amazing pics! I begged her to send them to me for the blog. Cam and I met in college when she spent a summer here on the Cape and we were instant besties! I love that she took some Cape inspiration back with her and used it in her wedding. Her super sweet hubby Jason is in the military so of course, navy was the perfect color choice. I hope you enjoy these nautical themed photos!

How cute is this picture of Cameron getting ready with her and Jason’s son Blake?!

Doesn’t she have the most amazing taste?

Cam, I adore these pictures of you and Jason on your wedding day. Craig, Luke and I love you guys so much and we cannot wait to see you again xoxoxo!

Headshots!

At the beginning of the summer I had my head shots done by the amazing and talented Christine and Andy from Bello Photography.  I am so glad they agreed to do it because I am not, um, the most photogenic person in the world.  Christine and Andy made me feel so comfortable, and I know they would be amazing with any bride.

Since it was the beginning of event season here on Cape Cod, I knew I would not have the time to try and organize and design my own shoot. It’s always a great experience to get an outside perspective, and so I brought in Jillian Clark to style my portraits.

I knew the shoot was going to be a great success even before the day arrived, I was so inspired by Jillian’s fabulous wardrobe choices. There are few things in this world more feminine than a Lilly Pulitzer dress, and  combined with the super-sweet floral pumps from JCrew the outfit felt both girly and grown up. Dressing down later in the shoot felt great, and the outfit felt comfortable while still stylish, combining Chip & Pepper jeans with a lovely top from Banana Republic.

The first section of the shoot took place in the garden of the church where my parents got married, and was set up like a lemonade stand as an homage to my first childhood entrepreneurial adventure. Being a new business owner, it was fun to reminisce on the days when all clients wanted was a simple glass of lemonade! (Although, the lemonade was very nearly upstaged by Lisa Raffael’s ever amazing cupcakes.)

From there we moved on to the train tracks near an old penny candy store I used to walk to when I was growing up. Being allowed to walk there on my own was my first taste of independence, and I remember feeling so grown up, walking along the train track holding the candy that I had purchased all by myself. Christine & Andy  brought along a love seat from their home, and it fit perfectly between the rails, creating the impression of both comfort and adventure (which, in my opinion, is how every wedding should feel!).

Jillian and her wonderful husband Scott work so well together, and it was so inspiring to watch them craft and style each section of the shoot. She carefully designed each element of the shoot to exemplify a little piece of my personality, and so each part of the shoot (while being different and unique), also felt like home, because it was designed around who I am.

Flashback: My Wedding

Just showing a little love to my amazing Hubby of almost 7 years. This is one of my favorite shots from our wedding. Whenever I look back at that day I think about all of the love and support our families showed us. I also love that the vendors that helped to inspire my wedding, are still creating beautiful weddings for the brides I work with!

Vendor Shout Out: Shama Klee

I have to share with you one of the most amazing florists this side of the Mason Dixon. Shama Klee amazes me with her talents every single time I see her work. Her style is perfection!

If you remember a few weeks ago we blogged about our launch party at Embargo, Shama was in attendance and the girls and I were a little, shall we say… star struck to see her. She brought this unbelievably gorgeous arrangement last week to thank me for inviting her.

Isn’t this green insane?!

Shama, you are sweeter than pie and I cannot wait to work with you☺

Cheers,

Desiree
